The Color Run is our school's largest fundraiser in which families, friends, and neighbors pledge money to support the students as they run in the Color run during the school day. Each lap is tallied as students jog (or walk, skip, run, etc.) during their set 30 min timeframe. As they run they will be sprayed with color powder by volunteers at stations along the race track. Each grade will run separately as a part of their regular physical fitness program.
Our PTC provides many fantastic programs for our students like Field Trips, Fun Assemblies, Leopard Buck Store, Holiday Shop, Book Fair, Fun Fair, Halloween Event, and more! In order to continue providing these programs, our goal is to raise at least $20,000, but ANY donation is welcome! If every child raised $50, we could reach our goal and more! ALL of the money raised will go directly into PTC-sponsored programs that enrich our students’ experiences.
The PTC is providing all the children in the school with a white LITH Color Run t-shirt free of charge. These will be handed out the morning of the run for children to wear over the clothes they wore to school. At the end of the run the white shirts will be taken off and put in ziplock bags for the students to take home to keep. We will dust off any remaining powder on clothes, legs, arms and shoes and then the kids will go back to their usual class. The color powder we are using is designed to be easily removed. Typical machine washing with laundry detergent removes any residual color from clothes and body wash or dish soap removes any residual powder from skin.
YES! The color powder is made of corn starch and dyes. It is free of harsh chemicals, heavy metals, and all other toxic ingredients. Although it’s made of all edible ingredients, it is not intended for consumption.
Fundraising will kick off on September 25th! Each student can obtain pledges in support of his/her Color Run efforts. Pledges can be made as a one time donation or on a per lap basis. Please help your child collect pledges through your child’s webpage. You can email family, relatives, friends, co-workers, etc. for support right from the webpage. Posting on social media is another option! No time to ask for pledges? You can make a donation as well! Please keep in mind that we can meet our school goal if each child raises $50 total.
We will be collecting online donations and pledges through the site 99pledges.com. In the coming days, you will receive an email with a link to your student’s pledge page. You do not need to login or change anything. Simply make a donation for whatever you can, and share your student’s link with friends and family. We are shooting for 100% participation and no amount is too small!
If you do not receive the email for whatever reason, simply search and find your participant's online pledge page here: https://app.99pledges.com/fund/lakeintheh36
Please reach out directly to the Principal or Vice Principle (angela.hammond@d300.org, joseph.pocztowski@d300.org) to discuss any concerns you may have with your child’s participation due to medical or sensory considerations. You can reach the nurse at (robin.burseth@d300.org) for medical considerations.
